SimpleSAMLphp OAuth and OpenID Connect module now available
Cirrus Identity is excited to announce the release of an OAuth2 and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
authentication module for SimpleSAMLphp. This development was made possible with
sponsorship by the Big Ten Academic Alliance and technical support from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The module has been released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 (LGPL-2.1)
and installation instructions are available on Github at the following location:
https://github.com/cirrusidentity/simplesamlphp-module-authoauth2/blob/master/README.md
The documentation also provides configuration suggestions for the module when used with
SimpleSAMLphp, some example configurations for social providers, and specific tips that apply
to individual providers. The objective was to deliver a flexible solution to the community.
Going forward, Cirrus Identity will be a steward of the source code for the module
(https://github.com/cirrusidentity/simplesamlphp-module-authoauth2) and will engage with the
SimpleSAMLphp community to maintain it. Questions and discussion may be surfaced on the
SimpleSAMLphp users list (simplesamlphp-users). Bugs may be reported using the Issues
feature of GitHub.
Questions about this specific announcement may be directed to support@cirrusidentity.com.
