We are excited to share with you some of our most recent implementations from November and December:
November 2024
Lake Tahoe Community College - Lake Tahoe CC has replaced CAS (used for SAML SPs only) and moved to Entra ID with Duo MFA as their primary identity provider. The DNS Add-On has been utilized to move authentication traffic to the SAML Bridge after successfully testing all SPs. The Attribute Authority Add-On is being used to securely access attributes that are only in LDAP. With LTCC, we incorporated the California Community College (CCC) metadata aggregate.
Sacred Heart University - In partnership with VisualZen, Sacred Heart University integrated with our CAS Bridge to connect their Entra ID with the VisualZen application.
Saint Anselm College - Using the Cirrus Identity Slate Bridge and Proxy, Saint Anselm provided applicants access to Saint Anselm’s financial aid application, authenticating with their Slate credentials. Matriculated students also access the same financial aid application, authenticating with Saint Anselm’s campus identity provider. This eliminated the need to create credentials in the campus identity provider for applicants who may not matriculate.
Touro University - Touro University implemented the SAML Bridge with Okta as their primary identity provider to reconnect with InCommon applications that were lost during an earlier migration, enabling them to continue offering access to InCommon service providers.
University of Arkansas Medical Sciences - UAMS replaced Shibboleth with Entra ID and the SAML Bridge in order to enforce 2-Factor authentication with EntraID. The implementation utilized the DNS Add-On so that the SPs that were currently configured with Shibboleth in the InCommon metadata did not need to be changed.
University of Guelph - The University of Guelph replaced Shibboleth with Entra ID for access to service providers in the Canadian Access Federation.
December 2024
NIST - The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is part of the US Department of Commerce. NIST is new to InCommon and implemented the SAML Bridge with Okta as their primary identity provider.
Texas A&M System RELLIS - The TAMU RELLIS campus is new to InCommon and implemented the SAML Bridge with Entra ID as their primary identity provider. This was a quick implementation and they were up and running with InCommon in two weeks.
University of Kentucky - The University of Kentucky implemented the Cirrus Log API in order to import logs from their SAML Bridge into Splunk, their SEIM tool. They did some early testing with PowerShell to verify the information before import.
Xavier University of Louisiana - Xavier University implemented their first InCommon identity provider utilizing the SAML Bridge with Entra ID as their primary identity provider. This was a quick implementation and they were up and running with InCommon in two weeks.
